Terms of Service
Effective 22 September 2026. FinPlanner is built and run by one person, not a company, and these terms are written that way — plainly, and without pretending otherwise.
What FinPlanner is
A budgeting tool. It reads bank statements and bank-sender emails you give it access to, categorises the spending, and builds a budget and goal plan from that. It does not connect to your bank account, move money, or give investment advice. Nothing in the app is a recommendation to buy, sell, save in, or avoid any financial product.
Your account
One account per person. You’re responsible for keeping your password and, if you use it, your Gmail connection secure. If you notice unauthorised access, tell me — contact page.
The AI features, specifically
Two features in this app call an AI model, and both can be wrong. When a statement format isn’t recognised by the built-in parser, the file is sent to an AI reader to extract transactions; it can misread a row. The chat assistant answers from a live snapshot of your data, and can misstate a number or misunderstand a question. Treat both as a fast first pass, not a source of truth — check anything you’re about to act on against your actual statement.
Your data
Your statements, transactions, budgets and goals are yours. What FinPlanner does with them and what leaves the app is covered in full in the Privacy Policy; ownership and the open-source pieces this app is built from are covered in the Copyright page.
Pro plan and payment
FinPlanner Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks the Gmail connector for 12 months from the date you pay. It is not a subscription — nothing renews automatically, and nothing is charged again without you starting a new purchase yourself. Pricing, what happens at expiry, and how refunds work are covered in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Acceptable use
Don’t try to break in, scrape the app, abuse the contact form or chat endpoints beyond normal use, or use FinPlanner for anything illegal. Accounts used this way can be suspended.
No warranty, and a real limit on liability
FinPlanner is provided as-is, built and maintained by one person alongside everything else they do. I try to keep it correct and available, but I don’t promise uninterrupted uptime or that every number is right — see the AI section above, and the About page for what the app is upfront about not doing yet. To the extent the law allows it, my liability to you for anything arising from using FinPlanner is limited to what you paid for the Pro plan in the twelve months before the claim, which is ₹0 if you’ve never paid for it.
Ending this
You can stop using FinPlanner at any time. I can suspend or end an account for abuse, for activity that puts other users’ data at risk, or if the app is shut down altogether — in that last case I’d rather tell you in advance than pull the plug quietly.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of Indian courts.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that matters, I’ll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use FinPlanner after a change means you accept the new terms; if you don’t, the right move is to stop using it and, if you want, ask me to delete your data — see the Privacy Policy for how.
Questions
Get in touch — genuinely, if something here is unclear or seems unfair, I’d rather hear about it.
